Brazilian Model & Sniper Killed By Russian Missile Strike Three Weeks After She Joined Ukrainian Troops

Thalito do Valle always took part in humanitarian missions as she had previously fought against ISIS in Iraq. Her conflict experience in the Muslim country was documented on her YouTube, where the videos gained over 32K views. The 39-Year-Old had worked as a model and actress in her youth, including participating in animal rescues with NGOs. 

Sadly, the law graduate was killed by a Russian missile strike in Ukraine weeks after joining the fight.

The model died on the spot after a missile struck her bunker in Kharkiv, the northeastern city, which has been subjected to severe bombardment. The attack also killed former Brazilian Army soldier Douglas Burigo, 40, who returned to the bunker to find Thalito as she was the only troop member left behind after the first missile strike. 

Brother Theo Rodrigo Viera has described Thalito as a hero with a vocation for saving lives and participating in humanitarian missions. 

He explained she had only been in Ukraine for three weeks, working as a rescuer and a sharpshooter. Thalito was also reportedly responsible for providing cover from advancing Russian forces as she was working with a Brazilian soldier to turn the experience in Ukraine into a book. The last time her family spoke with her was last week, Monday, after Thalito had just moved to the city of Kharkiv. 

When she spoke with her family, it was alleged that Thalito explained she couldn’t talk much as Russian drones were monitoring mobile phone activities. 

She had also told her family she would call when chanced to let them know she was fine. Unfortunately, it was the last time they would hear from Thalito. However, her videos of fighting against ISIS reveal how she received sniper training when she joined the Peshmerga, the armed military forces of the independent Kurdistan region of Iraq.
