Woman Recreates Celebs Outfits To Prove Style Shouldn’t Depend On Body Size

Wear that dream dress of yours!

Katie Sturino, the founder of Megababe, a popular body care product line, is best known for creating a counter-narrative for plus-size women who have long been stigmatized in the fashion industry. The author of Body Talk uses her Instagram to recreate iconic celebrity outfits. Her campaign titled #SupersizeTheLook has been calling out brands that don’t make extended sizes.

Katie Sturino, a style influencer, proves that style does not depend on size.

Sturino’s main intention isn’t to compete with other women, and it isn’t also about who rocked it better but about celebrating every shape and size. The style blogger tells plus-size women they can pull off what they are inspired by, from bra tops to even short minidresses. The New Yorker firmly believes that great style can happen at any size, and after 10years of working in PR, she has since launched a blog called the12thish style

Thousands of people relate to Sturino’s body-positive messages, especially as she proved that gaining some weight and being healthy isn’t the end of the world. Her journey, in particular, started in 2015 when she experienced a hard time finding shopping and style inspiration for women her size.

Whether it’s Meghan Markle or Jennifer Aniston, Sturino shows women her size can have the same style and don’t have to be of size. While most have since found her series name uplifting, Sturino doesn’t let critics deter her. And one of the most captivating looks she ever recreated was an all-gold that Beyoncé Knowles Carter wore in 2017. Her major challenge is not finding comparable pieces in extended sizes, yet Sturino always finds a way to make it work.

The fashion influencer has collaborated with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie Hunter McGrady to recreate a photo of street-style divas Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. Likewise, she has teamed up with other bloggers for celebrity-style recreation and has been left delighted with the results so far. The best part for the style blogger is getting messages from people who claim her campaign has inspired them. However, voluptuous women now have their time because the stereotypes of curvy women enduring boring fashion trends are so out of style. Sturino has undeniably gained a vast fan base, and as seen, they adore her and often leave positive remarks on her style, body shape, and posts.
