Meet Liz Cambage, A 6-Foot-8 Basketball Star & Model

Cambage has played for many teams in the Australian-based league WNBL and models for numerous fashion brands.

Elizabeth Cambage, aka Liz, is a 6-foot-8 basketball star currently playing for the Los Angeles Sparks. She had joined the women’s National Basketball League [WNBL], and even played junior basketball with the Dandenong Rangers from the 2007-08 season. During her time in WNBL, she earned a scholarship to & played for both the Australian Institute of Sport & the Bulleen Boomers. 

The 31-Year-Old, born on August 18, 1991, in London has a Nigerian father and her mom is Australian. 

Following her parents’ split, the Savage X Fenty ambassador moved to Australia with her mom, who suggested she join basketball to make friends. Cambage who had been teased for her height of 6 feet tall at age 10, is, however, also a model on Instagram for Vita Drop and Adidas Basketball. She had graced the cover of the April 2020 Elle Australia and modeled for the Bonds fashion brand.

Accordingly, Cambage is a known disk jockey [DJ] and her Elizabeth Cambage merchandise can be bought via her PWRFW site

The stunner is also signed with IMG Talent & Disrupt the Game agencies leading to the cover of the ESPN 2019 Body Issue.

Of her early days, Cambage attended Padua College and in 2009 was placed in the Under-20 Australian National Championships. 2011 saw her drafted reluctantly to the WNBA team Tulsa Shock but the model at the time made it clear, stating: “I don’t want to play at Tulsa. They want to make me a franchise player, but I’m not going to the WNBA for that.”

She went on to play for Zheijang Chouzhou basketball club in China for $400K per year, making her one of the highest paid in the world.

While in China, Cambage also played for the Shanxi Flame for the 2018-19 season.

In the same 2018, the beauty returned to the WNBA signing a multi-year contract with the Dallas Wings. The WNBA awarded her with Peak Performer and she was All-WNBA First Team. At the July 17, 2018 game against the New York Liberty, Cambage made history by scoring the most points [53] in a single game in the WNBA. She was on the league’s All-Star team in 2011, 2018, and 2019.

2020 saw the Vegetarian, who won medals representing Australia in the 2012 and 2018 Olympics return to the WNBL, joining the Southside Flyers for the season.

However, Cambage in early 2021 left her fans of over 500K on Instagram drooling after she shared photos from a champagne-filled St. Barts getaway with other well-known athletes and social media influencers including sensation Valerie Loureda, and ex-WWE star Kelly Kelly and Bellator MMA. On the other hand, she still holds the WNBA single-game scoring record.
