Bella Hadid Makes Fashion History With Spray Painted Dress On Runway
It’s historical and an example of true innovation.
The Paris Fashion Week of 2022 won’t go down in style history, and it’s all thanks to the daring look by Bella Hadid. The supermodel closed Coperni’s runway show on Sept. 30th as she walked the runway with nude underwear and heels but ended the catwalk in a breathtaking full gown.
Bella had covered her chest with one arm, which left spectators wondering what could happen next.
And just as she caught attention, a team, [Dr. Manel Torres, who invented the spray, and another spray painter] hurriedly surrounded the beauty and started spray painting her body. Bella’s body was reportedly coated in a spray-on fabric called Fabrican, and the whole process was hands down mesmerizing to watch.
Eventually, the spray-on fabric resembled a slip dress.
And required only a smidge of adjustment for an off-shoulder appearance.
“From afar, it just looked like Hadid was being sprayed with white paint, but as the artists layered each coat, an elastic-like dress began to form on Hadid’s body right on the runway. The crowd audibly gushed over the spectacle, and I don’t blame them!” Arnaud Vaillant, Coperni’s co-founder, told Vogue.
A true model, Bella stood center-stage and elegantly moved her body so slightly for the artist to work their magic.
Another noticeable alteration to the spray-on fabric was the slit cut into the thin dress that gave it a classy look. With all adjustments made, Bella confidently walked the runway and didn’t stop once to fix the dress. This moment called back to Alexander McQueen’s 1999 runway show; she featured a dress being crafted on the catwalk.
Apart from the runway, Bella also appeared while walking with Coperni’s creative heads, Arnaud and Sebastian Meyer.
Isn’t she just gorgeous?
Besides, you’ll agree Bella stole the whole damn attention at Paris Fashion Week.
The spray-painted dress is an example of true innovation. Never has something like this ever been witnessed. As of now, it’s unknown how the liquid sprayed on the model’s body transformed into a synthetic fiber, but one thing is for sure Bella’s unrivaled elegance and beauty was PERFECT!
