Meghan Markle Slid Into X Factor Winner Matt Cardle’s DM’s Months Before Dating Prince Harry

The Duchess of Sussex is said to have befriended X-factor winner Matt Cardle and might have even hinted at romance months before she met Prince Harry.

Sources close to Matt say that Meghan, who is now married to Prince Harry had slid into the 2010 X-factor winner in 2015 after he first followed her on Instagram.

Meghan was then starring in the TV drama Suits, followed him back before writing a short message admitting that “she was a big fan of his work”

‘Matt couldn’t believe a Hollywood star like Meghan would even know who he was so he was very flattered and they chatted a little bit online before she suggested meeting up,’ a source close to Matt claimed. Meghan was allegedly in London at the time.

But Matt then met his girlfriend and ‘ghosted’ Meghan.

It felt like there could have been a connection but the timing was wrong. He didn’t reply to her last message,’ the insider added.

Seems like Meghan had always had a taste for British men since Matt wasn’t the only Britsh Celebrity she was messaging. In 2013, the Duchess of Sussex revealed to a British journalist that she was being pursued by Ashley Cole and had even considered taking him up on his offer of a date.
