Report Claims Sydney Is Boring And Expensive That Students And Businesses Are Put Off Moving There
Sydney had ranked 17 out of 125 cities for business in 2018!
The loopholes of Sydney have been recently highlighted in a new report claiming the city is so boring and very much expensive.
The report titled: ‘The Benchmarking Sydney 2019’ from the Committee for Sydney outlined a number of major areas affecting the growth of the city.
Gabriel Metcalf, the Chief executive of the Committee for Sydney told Sydney Morning Herald that the city is still, however, respected by businesses, but were much more likely to set up in Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok than in the New South Wales.

Ranking 27th out of 44 global cities for global business headquarters, Sydney in 2018 had ranked 17 out of 125 cities for business activities globally.
Nevertheless, the cost of living in Sydney is discouraging international students from moving there, while also the city’s nightlife and culture are gradually lacking.
‘The Committee ranked Sydney equal 26th out 33. Probably the biggest negative perception Sydney faces with its trust brand is that it doesn’t have an exciting nightlife as before. This has shown up in international perceptions about the city.’ Mr. Metcalf explained.
He added: ‘The lockout laws and the eagerness of local councils to close up music venues over noise complaints have resulted in issues with nightlife.’

Accordingly, the report also revealed that Sydney’s progress stopped for about a decade right after hosting the Olympics in 2000. The full Benchmarking Sydney report will officially be released on November 26.
