Plus-Size Model Cruelly Body Shamed Hits Back At Trolls By Showing Curves In Bikini

“I truly believe you can learn to love yourself through loving other people’s bodies.”

During the pandemic, Pearl Froud turned to modeling and has since become a content creator on body positivity. Due to her confidence, the size 18 model has worked for the brands In The Style, Chi Chi London, and Fat Face. She also has been empowering women online with her self-love content while proving curvy women can be strong & sexy.

It wasn’t easy to reach her now-stardom as Pearl had been bullied as a teen, but she overcame her self-hatred.

Accordingly, just as she completed her photography degree in 2020, when the lockdown hit, Pearl had first lost and, at the time, worked at Waitrose before deciding to contact modeling agencies on a whim. “I spent many years of my life hating myself and obsessing over my appearance, and if help just one person to feel better about themselves, then it is all worth it,” she told Daily Star.

Of her bullying experience, Pearl admitted some trauma still remains, & she’ll never forget how she was treated.

The 23-Year-Old added that she thought through her struggles and to what now feels like a triumph, she would be such a fool if she didn’t try to help others who might feel the same as she did. She continued: “When I would get bullied at my school, my mum and dad would have my back; they’re my biggest supporters.”

“Overtime I went to a school disco and the theme was Beauty and the Geeks and this girl I kind of knew camp up to me and said ‘Didn’t you it was Beauty and the Geeks, not Beauty and the Beasts? That had a big impact on 14-Year-Old me, but my parents always reminded me it wasn’t my problem.”

Pearl further alleged that during her secondary school, she became tough and defensive because the boys were mean but looking back, she wished she was kinder to herself and those around her. So far, she’s signed with Sandra Reynolds (SR), a modeling agency Pearl attested is both accepting and safe. And while she receives trolling online, she doesn’t get as many as she expected, and her past experiences have taught her to ignore them.

Most of the cruel comments are hinged on her weight or appearance, but she doesn’t give it the time of day, as her work inspires others to love themselves.

She concluded: “I truly believe you can learn to love yourself through loving other people’s bodies, which sounds controversial, but I will explain. People always say we want what we can’t have and to some extent, I think most people have felt like this at one point in their life. I believe I have been able to help so many people with their body image because I’m plus size and because I have real features.”

Pearl pointed out she doesn’t appear as a threat to someone’s body image and self-esteem as much as Victoria’s Secret model designed to challenge and push people to have unattainable and unrealistic goals.
