Niecy Nash Reveals Wife Jessica Betts Is The Only Woman She’s Ever Felt Attracted To
They got married in 2020 after years of being just friends.
Niecy Nash has insisted that her wife Jessica Betts is the only woman she’s ever found attractive. Speaking in an episode of Red Table on Facebook Watch, Niecy got pretty candid about her relationship with Betts. She talked about her past romances with Ex-husbands Jay Tucker and Don Nash, with whom she shares three children.
Niecy Nash had never considered being with a woman before getting involved with Musician Betts.
She had dated men all my life, married a couple of them, but she felt fully seen being with Betts.
Sitting down with hosts Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith, and Adrienne Banfield, Niecy uttered: “I’ve never dated a woman in my life until now. It was the first time in my life I had ever felt fully seen, and it changed me.” Niecy and the musician, whom she married in August 2020, had first connected on social media in 2015.
On the Red Table Talk, Betts shared she has found a beautiful soul whom she lovingly calls her “hersband.”
In the episode, Niecy also gushed over Betts, saying, “I never want this person to not be in my life.”
She had come across videos of Betts singing in the documentary “The Same Difference,” released in 2015, and instantly followed her on social media. Eventually, Betts followed Niecy back, and they maintained a friendship for four and a half years. Betts had reportedly appeared on an episode of Claws, but the pair were still friends.
She opened up about her past marriages, saying her first was a “slow dance with death.”
After 17 years, she summoned the strength to leave because she wanted her kids to see what real love looked like.
At the time, neither of them cheated on their partners. When Niecy also appeared on RTT, she stated she wasn’t looking for a relationship when she met Betts, but on the other hand, the musician knew something was special about Niecy, and she knew that she wanted her when she desired nobody else.
Niecy had connected with Betts on social media in 2015.
The duo followed each other online and maintained a friendship for four-and-a-half years.
“I gave myself permission to feel what I felt in the moment and to be unapologetic about it,” Niecy explained, adding that she was partly hesitant to jump into a relationship with Betts because she worried their friendship might not survive it. But then the turning point came when they met up to have wine and crabs.

Niecy recalled: “When we talked this time, my eyes crossed, and I saw her different in that moment.” After that, they went to Niecy’s place to watch one of her favorite movies, and shortly before the end of the movie, the “Never Have I Ever” actress claimed she placed her hand on Bett’s neck. Later that evening, Niecy kissed her on the cheek, and Betts asked if she wanted to go lay down without holding back.
“When we talked this time, my eyes crossed, and I saw her different in that moment,” Niecy recalled.
However, the couple officially got engaged on July 3rd, 2020. Betts was the first to propose and said it happened while “skinny dipping in the hot tub.” She recalled the actress getting on her nerves that day, so when she popped the question to Niecy, she had said: “if anybody’s gonna get on my nerves, it’s gonna be you. Marry me.”
However, the actress shared their marriage news online and surprised her followers.
Betts was the first to propose before Niecy followed suit.
And in response, Niecy said: “Whatever,” and the ring was placed on her finger. Niecy also proposed with a ring she had already picked out for Betts. Their followers were left stunned when their backyard wedding was revealed via Instagram. On RTT, Niecy, however, called herself free and explained why she was confused when people used the phrase coming out when she announced her marriage to Betts.
After revealing their affair, Niecy said of Betts, “She is the most beautiful soul I have ever met in my life.”
