Maura Higgins Pulls Out Of The British Fashion Awards, Says Her Outfit Was ‘Not Very Appropriate’

The Irish TV star had zero control over the dress in question.

Love Island star, Maura Higgins, looked forward to mingling with great and good at the British Fashion Awards, but eventually, she didn’t make it to the event after not feeling comfortable in her custom-made dress. Designer Scott Henshall, who burst onto the fashion scene in 1998 at age 22, was behind the gown which Higgins disapproved of.

The 32-Year-Old showed herself in an Instagram clip from her hotel room, looking all glam but at the last minute felt her outfit wasn’t very appropriate.

She said: “So everyone is messaging me like, ‘Where are ya, and where are the red-carpet pictures?” I’ve had a bit of a nightmare. So obviously you can see I am fully ready. Glam team is on point. Basically, the dress, the shoes, everything wasn’t something I’d wear. I don’t know what to say, it’s like, I just feel it’s not very inappropriate for the Fashion Awards.”

Higgins, as seen, styled her long brunette tresses poker straight.

The beauty continued: “I obviously do like to go daring, you guys know that, but I just feel, I don’t know. It’s just not right. So yeah, I’ve decided not to go. I’m still in the hotel as you can see.” This comes as Higgins, as per the DailyMail, had opted for the braless trend in several racy red-carpet numbers including this year’s National Television Awards and Pride of Britain Awards.

Before the Fashion Awards event, the Irish TV star had shared a selfie on her IG story while getting glammed up.

While holding up a piece sign, Higgins penned: “BFA tonight. First time to have zero control on my outfit. Excited to see what @scott_henshall has designed for me.” However, designer Scott, 47, has since been hailed King of Red Carpet, thanks to his creation of iconic dresses including dressing supermodel Jodie Kidd in a web of lace for the first Spider-Man Premiere.
