Madonna’s Daughter Lourdes Reveals She Paid For Her Own College Herself

The daughter of Madonna, model Lourdes Leon, is making a feature on Vogue’s cover for the September issue. She was featured alongside other models such as Bella Hadid and Anok Yai.

A name famous since she was born, Leon counters people who believe she’s riding on her mother’s popularity.

“People think I’m this talentless rich kid who’s had everything given to her, but I’m not,” she told Vogue.

A vocal body positivity icon, passionate dancer, and LGBTQ+ rights advocate, the 24-year-old shares that she’s done many things independently instead of relying on her parents’ power. She paid for her own college and lives in Bushwick, New York. And there’s something she loves more than her modeling job.

“A teacher of mine made me understand movement in a whole new way,” she talked passionately about dancing.

“You’re using your body to define the space around you—to change it. That’s a very naked form of expression.”

While her mother, Madonna, is a world-renowned celebrity with more than 16.3 million followers on Instagram, Lola Leon has refused multiple offers to model and kept her verified Instagram at 148k. She’d only accepted her runway debut because Gypsy Sport’s designer, Uribe, has been avoiding “tall, skinny, blonde girls” to model his clothes.
