‘I’m 62 & Want A Baby With My Husband, 26, People Say I’m Too Old’

Despite the hurdles their 37-year-age gap may bring, Cheryl McGregor and Quran McCain are ready for their next adventure, which is parenthood. The pair are willing to have surrogates carry their child and possibly consider adoption. Cheryl, 62, in particular, has been trolled for this decision but she has hit back, insisting she’s got the energy to take care of a baby and that she doesn’t see it as a problem. 

Aside from being trolled for wanting a child, it’s been a battle for the couple and their families who think their relationship is a joke.

Cheryl and McCain met in 2012 while working at Dairy Queen. At the time, McCain was aged 15 and romance didn’t blossom until much later. The pair even lost contact but reconnected in 2020 when McCain saw Cheryl working as a cashier at a convenience store. The love spark happened and they started dating. In 2021, they got married after McCain proposed on a live stream to 20K people. 

Now, the couple, both from Rome, Georgia admitted on This Morning that they would also consider adoption. 

Speaking via a video line, from Atlanta, Cheryl said: “They said I guess just because of my age I can’t take care of a baby, what? I have got more energy than half of these kids that are taking care of babies now and I don’t see it as a problem. No I can’t have a baby myself but we have done the surrogacy thing where we already had three surrogates and right now we are looking for another one and also maybe adoption.” 

The loved-up couple is set to appear on Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over USA which is available to stream on UKTV Play. 

Speaking of the battle with families, Cheryl added: “It’s been a battle with them, us trying to prove to them it wasn’t a joke. Out of my seven children they were saying he was using me, we weren’t using each other, we can’t help who our hearts fall in love with. So, it’s been a battle, out of seven of my children I really have two but one who really stands by us through everything and it took a while to come to that conclusion that they like him.” 

The pair had reportedly tried to get pregnant on their own but due to Cheryl’s age, they decided to turn to surrogacy or adoption. 

McCain told Jam Press: “We prefer surrogacy; however, we have seen a lot of people embroiled in legal complications far after the child is born. We are looking for a nice surrogate who is willing to sign a contract to have nothing to do with the child after it’s born. We don’t want people trying to have a baby for us for financial gain, we are not that financially inclined ourselves.”

With adoption, the couple is looking for a biracial baby so the child would know he/she has half-black and half-white parents and so that the child would feel that indeed they are his/her true parents. 

McCain added: “Both of Cheryl’s daughters had hysterectomies in the last few years otherwise they would have been the best option for being as close to a biological child as possible.” However, soon after the couple started dating, they began posting videos on TikTok and now they’ve become viral sensations due to their nearly four-decade age difference. They get a lot of hate but that doesn’t phase them. 

Interestingly, the couple has also set up an OnlyFans account for their saucier content. And when asked by host Holly Willoughby what they say to the haters who think their relationship is a scam, McCain said: “We are just going to keep living our lives because we are happy, we are very much happy, this is a happy healthy marriage, we are looking to start our family and that’s all we got.” Cheryl also added: “Absolutely, it’s us against the world.” 

In a previous interview, McCain had stressed that Cheryl has a very young spirit soul, and heart. 

He claimed: “I think the biggest misconception is that I’m using her or waiting to be put in the will. We connected on a spiritual level. No matter the situation we just have a certain vibe that connects anytime we are around each other.” Cheryl also said: “It’s different, it’s amazing, he’s very compassionate to me and I think it’s because he’s a younger man.”

“I couldn’t have that with anybody else, he’s very emotional and that’s something I’ve never dealt with, they were all angry and he’s emotional in a good way because he shows me he cares. There’s just something between him and I that I never thought we would be together like this, he’s just an amazing person. There’s a different type of chemistry with him even though he’s younger, we have a lot of chemistry because of the things we’ve been through and it pulls us closer.” 

As with their s*x life, McCain claimed it gets better every time. He alleged it’s pretty normal, it’s not out of the ordinary, and that it’s amazing, especially as Cheryl knows what she’s doing.
