Artist Explores Societal Standards In 30 Honest Comics And It’s Relatable

Artist Lainey Molnar is back! This time around, she’s exploring everything from body image, motherhood, freedom of choice, women, and stereotypes. The mission is to call out society on the sexist and unrealistic pressures it places on women. The 33-Year-Old strongly believes the pressure comes from both inside our community and outside, be it family, media, or MEN. 

Molnar, who works as a digital business strategist, through her illustrations shows it’s unrealistic to navigate society’s expectations, which include maintaining a perfect size/ shape, being strong but also sensitive, maternal but also ambitious, staying youthful while accepting the aging process & looking ideal but not overdoing plastic surgery.

The Hungary-based advises that women [womxn, actually] need to stick together to break the barriers, to the extent nobody would question alternative life choices anymore. However, besides being inspired by her own experience, Molnar also gets tips from other content creators, who have been inspiring people to understand the situations thousands or even millions of women go through.

Feedback for the artist has been positive and interestingly, Molnar intends to resume writing. Her first book had been launched in her native Hungarian in 2014. The author, for her next book, [coming soonest] will share her story along with drawings and the wisdom she has picked about womanhood over the years!
