A 79-Year-Old flight attendant employed in 1962 by Delta has sued the airline after getting fired over missing carton milk. The attendant, Ida Gomez Llanos claims she is a victim of a smear campaign by colleagues envious of her income and perks, influenced by managers who wanted to replace her with cost-effective, younger staff.

Ida Gomez Llanos claims she was harassed and bullied by colleagues and that instead of fighting for her, managers wrote her up and ended up firing her

Ida was gifted flowers and balloons for her 50th work anniversary

Being the most senior flight attendant in Los Angeles, Llanos got perks, including priority on overtime shifts and strongly believes her colleagues grew envious, in turn, launched a smear campaign to get her fired

Receiving an annual pay increase over her 57-year career, Llanos said she was earning $250,000 when she got fired

Receiving an annual pay increase over her 57-year career, Llanos in an exclusive interview with DailyMailTv revealed she was earning $250,000 when she got fired. Four times more than what any average flight attendant $56,000 is being paid, Bureau of Labor Statistics acknowledged.

Llanos, the Huntington Beach-based flight attendant has, however, filed her lawsuit against the airline in a Los Angeles court, claiming she was harassed and bullied by colleagues and that instead of fighting for her, managers wrote her up and ended up firing her.

Despite the bitter end of her career, Llanos looks back fondly on her early years as an air hostess for Bonanza

The flight attendant enjoyed her job so much that later in her career she even helped her son, Chris Douglas, 49, find a role as cabin crew for Delta

‘I couldn’t believe it. I have been accused of so many things and none are true. I try not to take it personally, but when you get mean about me and start lying, that’s the major problem.’ Llanos explained.

The 79-Year-Old flight attendant, who was an exemplary employee until she was fired in April 2019 had received countless company awards and good reviews from customers

Llanos added: ‘I was accused of sleeping, of stealing chocolates and not effectively doing a good job. Letters from passengers proved that wrong. I was also accused of not being able to arm or disarm the doors, but we all go through training yearly and we have to pass that training, else we do not fly.’
