Ashely Hesseltine, the comedian behind an Instagram account ‘Bros Being Basic’ is well aware of the irony that has over time grown around the concept of what’s Basic. What started as a snooty insult poking fun at the middle-class, basically white girls has taken on a life of its own as more individuals are becoming familiar with it.

Girls, who love pouty selfie in Instagram photos, leggings, pumpkin lattes and every other thing linked with being mainstream has decided not to care and have started celebrating their basicness.

Realizing, that guys can be just basic and thirsty as girls on Insta, Ashley in 2014 got an idea when the basic trend started to kick off. Ashley’s What If Guys Acted Like Girls’ idea recruits all of her male friends to recreate basic bros photos and indeed her blog has gone viral.

Launched on a Thanksgiving Eve, the page has garnered over 865k followers and still counting. So, we at Happyhumanity has compiled some of the best of Ashley’s works.
